Why does Safar 1447 start on 2025-07-27?

This Hijri date is based on the official moon sighting announcement in GB.

Islamic Crescent Observation for the UK (ICOUK)
UK-based moonsighting authority. Uses local visual sightings (with optical aid) and publishes verified hilal reports.

Explanation

According to Islamic Crescent Observation for the UK (ICOUK), the crescent moon was not sighted, and the previous Hijri month was completed as thirty days.

Accordingly, Sunday, 27 July 2025 was declared as the first day of Safar.
