Egypt Local Moon Sighting Hijri Calendar

The Hijri calendar for Egypt is issued by the official moon sighting authority, following the Hybrid methodology.

Criteria: The Hijri calendar is calculated using astronomical methods and then - for some months - validated by moon sighting confirmation.

This methodology combines calculation (hisab) with rukyat - sometimes - as a final confirmation before declaring the new month.
